Integrate eBay with Odoo

eBay remains a serious channel for UK retailers, especially in parts, refurbished goods, collectibles and value-driven categories. But eBay’s listing model (variations, item specifics, best offers) and its order flow don’t look like your website’s, so it needs deliberate integration rather than a generic feed.

We connect eBay to Odoo so listings, orders and stock stay coordinated with every other channel you sell on.

What we connect

  • Order sync with eBay specifics. Orders import with eBay’s transaction details, including combined purchases and best-offer prices, so what lands in Odoo matches what the buyer actually paid.
  • Variation listings mapped to variants. eBay variation listings (size, colour) map to Odoo product variants, keeping stock tracked at the level you actually sell.
  • Stock authority stays with Odoo. Quantity available pushes to eBay on schedule. Sell the last unit on Shopify and the eBay listing updates before you oversell it.
  • Managed Payments reconciliation. eBay’s payouts net off fees. We reconcile payout reports against orders so your ledger reflects real receipts, not gross sales.
  • Multi-account and multi-site. Selling on ebay.co.uk and ebay.de from separate accounts still consolidates into one Odoo backend with correct tax and currency handling.

How a marketplace connection is built

  1. Seller account and API access sorted first. Credentials, permission scopes and sandbox access where the operator offers one. This step is routinely the slowest, so we start it on day one.
  2. Listing and offer mapping to their standard. Marketplace operators reject data that doesn’t meet their taxonomy and attribute rules, so your Odoo product data is shaped to pass their validation rather than ours.
  3. Order lifecycle and despatch rules encoded. Marketplaces measure late despatch and cancellation rates, and they penalise both. The sync is built around their clocks, not just their endpoints.
  4. Settlement reconciliation into the ledger. Commissions, fulfilment fees, returns and payouts reconciled against the marketplace’s own statements, so your margin per channel is a fact rather than a guess.
  5. Go-live watching seller metrics. Production launch with monitoring on both the sync and your seller performance dashboard for the first trading cycle.

Common questions

Can Odoo create and update eBay listings?
Product data, prices and stock can push from Odoo. Heavy listing optimisation (title testing, item specifics tuning) usually stays in eBay tooling, and we're honest about where each job belongs.
How are eBay fees handled in accounting?
Fees come through payout reconciliation rather than being guessed per order, so margin reporting on eBay sales is accurate.
We do click-and-collect from our shop via eBay. Supported?
Yes, collection orders route to the right location's workflow in Odoo rather than the courier flow.
How do eBay's variation listings map into Odoo?
Variations map to Odoo product variants so stock is tracked at the level you actually sell, which matters because eBay penalises out-of-stock cancellations.
