Shopify ERP

Shopify ERP: the system that runs everything behind your store

A Shopify ERP is the operational layer your storefront sits on top of: one system that owns stock, orders, purchasing and accounting instead of a stack of apps and spreadsheets trying to agree with each other. Shopify keeps selling; the ERP keeps the operation honest. Here is what that actually looks like, and when a growing store genuinely needs one.

What it actually does

What a Shopify ERP takes off your plate

Shopify is a brilliant storefront and a weak system of record. A Shopify ERP is what turns "the numbers roughly agree" into one live source of truth across everywhere you sell and store stock.

One stock number

Your store, your 3PLs, your marketplaces and your warehouse all read and write the same live figure, so you stop overselling and stop reconciling stock by hand.

Orders and fulfilment

Shopify orders join one pipeline with every other channel, routed to the right warehouse or 3PL and tracked back to the customer automatically.

Accounting that reconciles itself

Sales, payouts, fees and COGS post themselves against the order, so month-end becomes a review rather than a three-week rebuild.

Purchasing, margin and reporting

Reorder points, supplier POs, landed cost and real margin per product and per channel, from one system of record instead of four spreadsheets.

The honest line

Single store, single warehouse, Xero coping? You probably do not need one yet.

An ERP is a real commitment, in cost and in change. It is the wrong call for a brand a good app stack still genuinely serves. A Shopify ERP starts paying for itself once a second channel, a 3PL, wholesale, or daily reconciliation arrives, not before. We would rather say that than sell you a project that does not fit.

How we do it

We make Odoo the ERP behind Shopify, on a connector we own

We build the operational layer on Odoo, the open-source commerce ERP, and connect Shopify with our own connector, not a resold one. Shopify stays your storefront; Odoo becomes the system of record for stock, orders, purchasing and accounting, and the two stay in step penny for penny.

It is proven, not theoretical: we maintain a commercial Shopify connector and have delivered Odoo across versions 8 to 19. For Gandys, three Shopify stores, marketplaces and a 3PL finally ran on one owned system instead of a spreadsheet stack. Already on Odoo? The Shopify connector is available on its own from £899. Not sure you are ready? A free Odoo health check will tell you honestly.

Common questions

Shopify ERP, the questions we actually get asked

Which ERP integrates best with Shopify?

The one whose connector you can actually get fixed when Shopify changes its API. We build and maintain our own Shopify-Odoo connector, so a broken sync is our code to fix, not a third-party vendor’s ticket queue. Odoo also covers the whole operation (stock, accounting, purchasing, manufacturing) rather than being a bolt-on, which is why it fits a growing store better than a single-purpose tool.

Does a Shopify ERP mean replacing Shopify?

No. Shopify stays your storefront and checkout, which it does well. The ERP sits behind it and takes over stock, orders, purchasing and accounting, and the two share one live source of truth through the connector.

How does the ERP sync orders and inventory with Shopify?

Through our connector: stock levels push out to Shopify on a reliable schedule, orders and fulfilment updates flow back into Odoo, and everything is matched penny for penny with logging, so drift shows up as a report rather than a surprise.

Real-time sync or scheduled?

Scheduled and verifiable beats a "real-time" sync that silently drops under load. We run scheduled, replayable syncs with reconciliation, designed for Black Friday volume, rather than fire-and-forget webhooks that fail quietly and leave you overselling.

How much does a Shopify ERP cost?

If you already run Odoo, the Shopify connector starts at £899 on its own. A full packaged commerce build (Odoo set up around your operation, Shopify connected, live in 8 to 10 weeks) starts around £20,000. You own the system outright, with no per-order or metered fees, and you get an honest hours breakdown before anything starts.

We are a single-store D2C brand. Do we need a Shopify ERP yet?

Probably not yet, and we will tell you so. A Shopify ERP earns its place once you add a second channel, a 3PL, wholesale, or reconciliation becomes a real part of someone’s week. If none of that is true, keep it simple. Our honest guide walks through exactly where that line is.
