Integrations

Integrate Microsoft Teams with Odoo

For organisations on Microsoft 365, Teams is the default nervous system. Connecting it to Odoo brings operational signals and approvals into the tool people already have open, which matters most in businesses where half the staff never log into the ERP.

We build Teams-Odoo integration with the same philosophy as our Slack work: high-signal, low-noise, actionable.

What we connect

  • Channel notifications with context. Key Odoo events (big orders, stuck deliveries, failed syncs, overdue invoices) post to the relevant Teams channels as adaptive cards with the details inline.
  • Actionable cards. Approvals and acknowledgements happen from the Teams message itself, writing back to Odoo with the approver recorded.
  • Personal alerts. Assignment notifications (a lead, a task, an activity) reach the responsible person directly instead of relying on Odoo inbox discipline.
  • M365 alignment. The integration sits comfortably alongside your Microsoft stack, and pairs naturally with Outlook and SharePoint patterns if those are next.
  • Governed rollout. Notification sets are defined per team, reviewed after live usage, and pruned, keeping the integration credible instead of muted.

How internal tool integrations are scoped

  1. Signal design first. Which events matter, who needs them, and a rule we hold to: if nobody in that channel can act on it within the hour, it becomes a digest instead of a notification.
  2. Authentication and permissions mirrored. Access rights follow your Odoo model, so an integration never becomes a side door around record rules people assumed were enforced.
  3. Built small on purpose. These are days of work, not weeks. We quote them that way and resist the urge to turn a notification into a platform.
  4. Two weeks of real use, then a prune. We review what people actually acted on and cut the rest. Most integrations of this kind fail by volume, not by absence.
  5. Documented and handed over. The event set, the thresholds and the credentials documented, so the next person inherits a system rather than a mystery.

Common questions

Bot, webhook or Power Automate?
Depends on the interaction depth. Simple notifications suit webhooks; interactive approvals need bot-based cards; Power Automate suits shallow flows your own team wants to own. We choose per use case.
Can users query Odoo from Teams?
Yes, lookups like customer status or stock levels can be exposed through a bot command, scoped to what each role should see.
What about approvals compliance?
Every card action writes back to Odoo with user and timestamp, so the audit trail lives in the ERP, not in chat history.
