Integrate WooCommerce with Odoo
WooCommerce gives you a flexible, WordPress-native storefront, but everything behind it (stock, purchasing, accounting) still needs a real backend once volume grows. A WooCommerce-Odoo integration turns Woo into a sales channel and makes Odoo the operational source of truth.
The technical reality with WooCommerce is that it lives inside WordPress, so integration quality depends on the store’s hosting, the REST API configuration, and which of the site’s plugins fight with each other. We’ve integrated enough Woo stores to know where they break.
What we connect
- Order sync via the WooCommerce REST API. Orders flow into Odoo with line items, coupons, taxes and customer records. Status changes (processing, completed, refunded) map to Odoo workflow states.
- Stock authority in Odoo. Odoo owns inventory and pushes available quantities back to Woo, so a sale in your other channels immediately reduces what Woo can sell. This kills overselling at the source.
- Product management from one place. Create and update products, variations and prices in Odoo and push to WooCommerce, instead of maintaining two catalogues by hand.
- Plugin conflict handling. Woo stores accumulate plugins, and some (custom checkout fields, bundles, subscriptions) change the order payload. We map these explicitly rather than letting them silently break the sync.
- Performance-aware syncing. WordPress hosting is often shared or modest. We batch and schedule API calls so the sync never takes your storefront down during trading hours.
How a storefront integration goes live
- Catalogue audit before anything syncs. SKUs matched across both systems, variant structures resolved, duplicates cleared. A dirty first import is the gift that keeps costing, so this comes first rather than after.
- A written mapping document. Which system owns which truth, which direction each object flows, and how taxes, currencies and shipping charges land in the ledger. You approve it before we build.
- Staging sync against a copy of your live store. Real products, real order history, and the awkward records included deliberately rather than filtered out to make the demo look good.
- Reconciliation before trust. Order counts, stock levels and tax totals compared across both systems until the numbers agree on evidence rather than optimism.
- Cutover sized for your peak. Go-live with logging, failure alerting and volumes tested against your busiest trading day, not an average Tuesday.
