How do I run a second store without doubling the work?
Launching store number two feels like starting over: a new catalogue to build, stock to split between two places, and a finance team suddenly reconciling two sets of numbers instead of one. It does not have to work that way. One backend can run every storefront you have, sharing catalogue, stock and costing across all of them.
Why growth from a second store costs more than it should
The catalogue gets built twice
A second storefront usually means a second product catalogue, kept in sync by hand, drifting out of step the moment someone updates one and forgets the other.
Stock gets split, not shared
Without a shared stock number, each store gets its own allocation, which means you either oversell or sit on stranded stock the other store could have sold.
Two sets of numbers, one finance team
Two stores usually means two sets of order data to reconcile into one set of accounts, and that reconciliation grows heavier every month you trade.
The ops load doubles, the team does not
Fulfilment, customer service and reporting all get repeated per store, so growth from a second launch quietly becomes a headcount problem.
One backend. As many storefronts as you need.
Every store reads and writes to the same catalogue, the same stock number and the same costing. Launching a third store is a configuration exercise, not a rebuild. Your team manages one operation with several fronts on it, instead of several operations that happen to sell the same products.
Odoo runs the backend, every store plugs into it
We build the operation on Odoo, the open-source commerce ERP, and connect each storefront to it with our own Shopify connector. Odoo owns the catalogue, the stock and the true product cost; every store simply reads from and writes to that one source, so nothing has to be rebuilt or kept in sync by hand between them.
This is proven at real scale, not theoretical. For a UK lifestyle brand we unified three Shopify stores, marketplaces and a 3PL into one Odoo system, with accurate landed cost carried across all of them. The second store was the easy part once the first was built properly.
