Integrate ShipStation with Odoo
ShipStation earns its place when you ship across many carriers and channels and want one place for labels, rate shopping and batch printing. The integration question is keeping ShipStation and Odoo agreeing: which orders to ship, what actually shipped, and what tracking to tell the customer.
We wire ShipStation into Odoo as the shipping execution layer while Odoo stays the system of record.
What we connect
- Orders pushed at the right moment. Odoo sends orders to ShipStation when they’re genuinely ready to ship (paid, allocated, not flagged), so the shipping queue is trustworthy.
- Shipment confirmation loop. Carrier, service, cost and tracking flow back to Odoo per shipment, updating delivery orders and triggering customer notifications.
- Split and partial shipments. Multi-parcel and partial shipments reconcile properly, so an order shipped in two boxes doesn’t confuse stock or customer comms.
- Actual shipping cost capture. The real label cost lands on the Odoo order, making per-order shipping margin visible instead of averaged away.
- Store mapping. Multiple storefronts and marketplaces map to ShipStation stores cleanly, preserving channel-specific packing slips and branding.
How logistics and trading partner integrations run
- Their requirements gathered first. Carrier, 3PL or retailer specifications collected up front: mandated formats, transport method, message types and the compliance rules they enforce on their side.
- Mapping and validation built per partner. Every partner has quirks. Their rules are enforced before a document leaves your system, because a rejected message is a delayed shipment or an unpaid invoice.
- Their test cycle, on their schedule. Partner onboarding and certification usually drives the timeline more than the development does. We plan around that honestly rather than promising dates we don’t control.
- Despatch rehearsal on real orders. Labels, despatch advices and documents generated against genuine order data on staging, checked by the people who will pack the boxes.
- Production with visible failures. Error queues, reasons and alerting from day one. At volume, a silent failure is the expensive kind, so nothing is allowed to fail quietly.
