How internal tool integrations are scoped

1. Signal design first. Which events matter, who needs them, and a rule we hold to: if nobody in that channel can act on it within the hour, it becomes a digest instead of a notification.
2. Authentication and permissions mirrored. Access rights follow your Odoo model, so an integration never becomes a side door around record rules people assumed were enforced.
3. Built small on purpose. These are days of work, not weeks. We quote them that way and resist the urge to turn a notification into a platform.
4. Two weeks of real use, then a prune. We review what people actually acted on and cut the rest. Most integrations of this kind fail by volume, not by absence.
5. Documented and handed over. The event set, the thresholds and the credentials documented, so the next person inherits a system rather than a mystery.
