Shopify Connector Installation Guide
A practical overview of installing and configuring the Shopify-Odoo connector. This is the shape of a deployment; the detailed technical documentation ships with the connector and we walk you through it during setup.

What this looks like in practice
- Prerequisites. A supported Odoo version, admin access to both Odoo and the Shopify store, and a Shopify custom app with the required API scopes. We confirm the exact scopes so the connector has what it needs and nothing it doesn’t.
- Install and connect. The connector module is installed in Odoo, then linked to each Shopify store with its API credentials. Multi-store setups add each storefront as its own connection against the same database.
- Map the catalogue. Products and variants are matched or imported, with weight units normalised to kilograms and the system of record chosen per your setup. A clean catalogue here saves reconciliation pain later.
- Configure the sync rules. Choose the invoice mode, order automation, stock authority and sync frequency per store. These are the decisions that make the integration fit your process rather than a default.
- Test on staging. The full order-to-cash and stock loop is run on a staging environment against real data, including the awkward records, before anything touches production.
- Go live and monitor. Production cutover with logging and error queues active from the first order, and optional ongoing monitoring so issues surface to us before they reach a customer.
How the connector is delivered
- Standalone from £899. If you’re already on Odoo, the connector is installed and configured for your stores from £899, with the sync rules and invoice mode set to your process.
- Or as part of an implementation. Most clients take it inside a full Odoo build, delivered in roughly 6 to 10 weeks, so the connector and the rest of the system go live together.
- Configured on staging first. Sync rules, catalogue mapping and invoice mode are set up and reconciled against real data on staging before anything touches production.
- Reconciled before you trust it. Order counts, stock and payment totals are checked across Shopify and Odoo until they agree on evidence, not optimism.
- Optional monitoring after go-live. A support retainer watches sync health and error queues, so issues surface to us before they become oversells or a customer complaint.
Common questions
Do we need a developer to install it?
No. Installation support is included, and most clients have us do the configuration. The documentation is there for teams who want to self-serve or understand the internals.
What API scopes does the Shopify app need?
The specific read and write scopes for orders, products, inventory and fulfilment, which we list during setup. We ask for exactly what the sync uses and no more.
Can we change the configuration later?
Yes. Invoice mode, automation and sync rules are all reconfigurable as your operation changes, per store.
