What this looks like in practice

Every order lands in Odoo with its exact line items, prices, discounts and tax lines, plus separate billing and shipping addresses with resolved country codes. The Odoo sales order matches the Shopify order penny for penny, which is what makes reconciliation possible later.

Orders are pulled on a reliable schedule over Shopify's GraphQL API rather than through webhooks, so a webhook dropped during a flash sale never means a lost order. The sync is incremental and idempotent, tracking what it has already imported so re-running it never creates duplicate sales orders, and the fetch itself is verifiable and replayable if anything needs re-checking.

When you want it, a landed order can auto-confirm, allocate stock and generate the picking ticket the moment it arrives, so fulfilment starts without anyone re-keying it. When you don't, orders wait in draft for review. Customers are matched or created cleanly too, avoiding the duplicate-contact sprawl that breaks CRM and credit control.

How it's delivered

If you're already on Odoo, order sync is installed and configured for your stores from £899, with the sync rules and invoice mode set to match your process. Most clients take it inside a full Odoo implementation instead, delivered in roughly 6 to 10 weeks, so the connector and the rest of the system go live together.

Either way, it's built and reconciled against real data on staging before it ever touches production, and order counts are checked between Shopify and Odoo until they agree on evidence, not optimism. A support retainer can then watch sync health and error queues after go-live, so issues surface to us before they become a warehouse argument.

Common questions

How quickly do orders appear in Odoo?
On the schedule you set, typically every few minutes. For peak periods we raise the frequency and monitor it, because that's exactly when order latency hurts.
Can we sync historical orders?
Yes, we can backfill to an agreed depth so reporting has continuity, reconciling the imported orders against Shopify's own totals. Going back beyond a year or two is rarely worth the effort.
What about POS orders from Shopify?
POS-linked stores sync like any other store, which is how we've consolidated a client's online, retail POS and B2B orders into one Odoo instance.
